Los medios nos malinforman a diario. Allá en los EEUU la gente está recibiendo información errónea sobre la guerra en Afganistan. Según reporta el bloguero Glen Greenwald de Salon.com lo que están llevando los medios como el New York Times y CNN a los estadounidenses es pura propaganda filtrada por el Pentágono.
En febrero 12 del 2010, las fuerzas internacionales de la OTAN emitieron un comunicado de prensa donde informaban de un "horrible hallazgo" mientras llevaban a cabo un operativo. El reporte decía que "tras recibir reportes de actividad militar en una villa cerca de Paktiya las fuerzas de la coalición entraron a un recinto y enfrentaron a varios insurgentes en un tiroteo. Dos "insurgentes" fueron" aniquilados [...]. Luego de entrar al recinto las fuerzas d ela coalición hallaron los cuerpos de tres mujeres que estaban amordazadas y asesinadas."
Pero los medios locales de Afganistan reportan otra cosa...
La agencia de noticias Pajhwok Afghan News reportó que las fuerzas especiales de los EEUU tomaron acciones basadas en reportajes equivocados e invadieron la residencia del jefe de inteligencia del distrito de Zurmat. Su nombre era Daud y se encontraba en su hogar celebrando el nacimiento de su hijo con su familia. En el ataque estadounidense resultaron muertos Daud, su hermano Zahir y tres mujeres. La agencia reportó también que este es uno de los más recientes operativos fallidos a causa de reportes imprecisos de la OTAN.
A pesar de todo esto CNN transmitió la versión del Pentágono en un reportaje titulado "Hallan cuerpos amordazados y atados luego de un asesinaton por honor Afgano". En el artículo CNN cita a una fuente anónima de la cúpula militar estadounidense que especuló que los Talibanes "podrían" ser responsables por las muertes de las mujeres. El New York Times reportó en un artículo que sobre este incidente habían "diferentes versiones" pero no mencionó en que consistían las diferencias mientras publicaba la versión de la OTAN integra.
Esto es un ejemplo de como se manipula la información en este lado del mundo. ¿Se puede confiar en la prensa comercial?

Y claro que hay que usar las mismas excusas de siempre, que el enemigo constituye una amenaza para la seguridad, que si no se lucha con ellos allá, habrá que hacerlo aquí, que x líder/presidente/dictador(que trabajo para USA) es el nuevo Hitler, que nos importan tanto que hay que propagar la democracia en x país, etc. Goebbels ya lo dijo clarito hace bastanta tiempo y ese pájaro sabía de lo que hablaba al ser ministro de propaganda. El como se puede justificar el asesinato en masa es algo que se ha convertido en un arte desde hace muchos siglos. salud y suerte.

La guerra es un negocio. Solo beneficia a gente como la Boeing, General Electric y otras compañías que manufacturan los aparatos y armas militares para los EEUU. Mientras haya guerra esa gente tendrá ganancias y si ellos ganan, ganan los legisladores que reciben sus donativos para campañas y otras cosas.
